summer is flying by in it’s own hot, muggy and fun kinda way. sorry for the lack of real time updates, but as you might guess it’s busy w/ work / wedding / friends / concerts / bbq’s and all the other goodly summer activities. looking forward to getting back to regular posting as the we crawl towards fall. here’s a few things i’ve been up to since the last update

stopped by this new record/ coffee / antiques / taxidermy shop in carroll gardens last week to shoot an interior for one of my clients – here are a few outtakes.

exit through the gift shop, the film from banksy, recently opened in many of the major markets here in the us. in support of the film, the artist has been traveling across the country putting up some new pieces. new york was the final stop on the tour and also the one city who’s inhabitants destroyed the pieces almost immediately.
rode the train out to williamsburg w/ brett to listen to the new record as it was being mastered. the train lets you out right next to the half completed / half abandoned building so we took a moment to look around as the sun set.
last night in new orleans – went to a party hosted / dj’ed by a guy who goes by rusty lazer.
these were all shot with the canon g10 – a camera i sometimes don’t give the respect that it deserves. anyway this is the last day i was in new orleans.
started off the day by giving away this crawfish costume on craigslist. it was surprisingly popular – in the end this guy was the first to come and pick it up, he wanted to wear it while playing his drums in an upcoming music video they were going to shoot.
and last but not least, an amazing mullet at the circle bar.

the third day of the trip was another epic day – started off by biking from the lower garden to the bywater neighborhood in the morning and ended back downtown after lots of bike riding, bbq and hanging out at a secret beach.

after a late lunch (think turtle soup and a 25 cent martini from commanders palace) and kicking around the apartment for a bit we headed off towards an old downtown brewery that had looted and then abandoned after katrina. our other roommate had been there a few days before and gave the advice to just keep heading up to the roof as you’ll get a great view of the city from an unusually tall perspective. done and done.
and with that we were out of light for the day and so it made perfect sense to head over to the fanciest bar in town and order up the signature cocktail of new orleans, the sazerac .
