exit through the gift shop, the film from banksy, recently opened in many of the major markets here in the us. in support of the film, the artist has been traveling across the country putting up some new pieces. new york was the final stop on the tour and also the one city who’s inhabitants destroyed the pieces almost immediately.

these were all shot with the canon g10 – a camera i sometimes don’t give the respect that it deserves. anyway this is the last day i was in new orleans.
started off the day by giving away this crawfish costume on craigslist. it was surprisingly popular – in the end this guy was the first to come and pick it up, he wanted to wear it while playing his drums in an upcoming music video they were going to shoot.

new orleans: day 1
for my birthday, i was lucky enough to take a trip down to new orleans where some friends had rented a house for the month – most of them had come down for the mardi gras parties which were all over by the end of february. however, i had known most of the remaining people through the power of the internet for a while so it was fun to meet and get to know each other in person finally. here’s a few shots from the first day.

fashion week
i’ve been a bit remiss in updating the blog, many apologies. if there’s anything to be taken from it, it’s that i’ve been pretty busy with outside work. i’ve been a bit better with updating my tumblr/moblog which can been found at: http://samhorine.tumblr.com/ and now on to the street fashion’s inside and out at the tents of bryant park here in nyc.

industrial dusk
on monday i stopped by the bell house to drop off shots from last friday night’s midnight special. afterward with some time to kill, i wandered around 3rd street and shot a few shots as the sun set.

best of / year end / my favorites -> pt1
it’s been a heck of year – lot’s of highlights including getting engaged, teaching classes at nyu, trips to berlin, maine (x2) and california, canada (x2) showing work at the queens museum of art and art basel, getting published in a a couple of books, a bunch of magazines and the new york times (x2). these photos are from some of my favorite moments and include shots from the 2nd half of the year. part 2 (aka the first half of 2009) coming soon. many many thanks to everyone who helped me, inspired me and pushed me to be better throughout 2009. i am fully expecting 2010 to be an epic year!
